Claverdon Fun Run 2025: Running tips from Hannah at Run Stronger

ree

Congratulations for signing up to Claverdon’s 2nd Fun Run on Sunday 28th September!! After last year’s success the Friends of Claverdon are back with an even better event this year!

Whether you are taking on the 200 metres, 1km, 3km or 5km you will be sure of a great experience whilst helping to raise money for the Friends of Claverdon Primary School so thank you so much.

The first thing to remember about this event is that it is a ‘Fun Run’ so we want you all to enjoy it as much as possible so here are a few tips to help you take part with a big smile on your face.

  1. Make sure you have had something to eat and drink before the event allowing enough time before the run for it to digest.

  2. Warm up. Make sure you get those muscles warmed up ready prior to the starting gun. Debby will be leading a great warm up for all participants so make sure you get there in time to take part to avoid any potential injuries.

  3. Don’t go out too fast!  It’s tempting with all the adrenaline and excitement to race off at top speed!  Remember, especially with the 3km and 5km you have some distance to cover so try and pace yourself so you can come into the finish line looking strong!

  4. The course is slightly undulating so make sure you take it easier on the uphill sections, again, pace yourself.

  5. Wear the right kit.  Make sure you are wearing comfortable trainers that fit you properly and your clothes are appropriate for whatever the weather is on the day.

  6. Check the weather forecast so you can wear the most appropriate clothing. Do you need a waterproof jacket, or do you need suncream?!

  7. Keep smiling!  There will be photographers on the course so make sure they capture you at your best!!

  8. Mental resilience. If you are finding it tough, visualise that finish line and your event medal. Finish strong with a big smile on your face whilst the crowd cheer you on!

Finally, remember to rehydrate, stretch and cool down at the end of the run, you’ll be grateful of it the next day.

Wishing all you runners the best of luck!!

Love

Hannah xx
