Welcome to Claverdon's 3rd Fun Run! Whether you're already signed up or still thinking about it, our local running trainer has put together her top tips for the day.
After the last 2 year's fantastic success, the Friends of Claverdon are back with an even bigger, better and more polished event.
Whether you're taking on the 200m, 1km, 3km, our most popular distance! or 5km, you're guaranteed a fun experience while helping to raise money for the Friends of Claverdon Primary School. Thank you so much for your support!
Not signed up yet? There's still time — you can find all the details and register at friendsofclaverdon.org/claverdon-fun-run-2026.
The most important thing to remember is that this is a Fun Run. We want everyone to enjoy the day, so here are a few tips to help you have a great run with a big smile on your face.
Before You Run
Fuel up. Have something to eat and drink before the event, allowing plenty of time for your food to digest.
Warm up. Get those muscles ready before the starting gun! There will be a fun warm-up session for all participants, so arrive in plenty of time to join in and help reduce the risk of injury.
During the Run
Don't set off too fast! With all the excitement, it's easy to sprint away at the start. For the 3km and 5km especially, remember you've got some distance to cover, so pace yourself and save some energy for a strong finish.
Take the hills steadily. The course is gently undulating, so ease off a little on the uphill sections and settle into a comfortable rhythm.
Wear the right kit. Choose comfortable trainers that fit well and clothing that's suitable for the conditions.
Check the forecast. With this British weather you could either need a waterproof jacket or a hat and sun cream!
Keep smiling! There will be photographers around the course, so make sure they capture your best smile.
Stay mentally strong. If the run starts to feel challenging, picture yourself crossing the finish line and collecting your well-earned medal. Keep going—you've got this! Finish strong and enjoy the cheers from the crowd.
After You Finish
Once you've crossed the finish line, remember to:
Rehydrate.
Stretch.
Cool down.
Your body will thank you the next day!
Most importantly, have fun, enjoy the atmosphere, and be proud of what you achieve.
Good luck to all our runners—we can't wait to see you on the start line!
Love
Hannah xx
