🌺 What We've Been Up To This Term
Mother's Day Gift Shop
The Mother's Day Gift Shop was a wonderful success – the children had a brilliant time choosing gifts, and the feedback from families has been really lovely. A huge thank you to everyone who organised and helped on the day. Amount raised available soon. Looking forward now to the Fathers Day gift shop coming up on Thursday 18th June.
Tea Towels

Tea towels have been ordered! If you placed your order online, your tea towel will be ready as soon as we receive delivery from the supplier after Easter. If you missed the opportunity to order, or would like to pick up an extra, a small number of additional tea towels will be available to order through the online shop (alongside the second-hand uniform) soon after the holidays.
Spring Raffle
Congratulations to all our raffle winners! We had a fantastic array of prizes this year – a huge thank you to the parents who donated items for the hampers, and to the brilliant local businesses listed below. If you can, please do give them your custom – it's a lovely way to say thank you for their generosity towards our school. We are still counting our pennies but believe the raffle will raise the best part of £1500!

🌺 Plans for the coming weeks 📅
Sunday Teas at Wren Hall – Sunday 10th May ☕🍰
For those who haven't been before, Wren Teas are a much-loved local tradition where charities serve homemade cakes and tea to visitors in the beautiful surroundings of Wren Hall in Wroxall — think pretty blue checked tablecloths, fresh flowers, and a lovely community atmosphere. This year, Friends of Claverdon will be hosting on Sunday 10th May from 2pm to 5pm, and we'd love to see as many of you there as possible. Bring the family, bring a friend, and come and enjoy a slice of homemade cake in a gorgeous setting whilst supporting your school!
Can you help us make it happen?
Behind every great Wren Tea is a small army of bakers and volunteers! To make our tea a success we need:
🎂 Approximately 5 more homemade cakes (we already have 20 pledged) to satisfy those hungry customers!
🙋 5 more volunteers on the day (we already have 9 wonderful volunteers!) to help with taking payments, serving tea and cake, working in the kitchen, and clearing tables. It's a fun and sociable way to spend a Sunday afternoon. If you can bake or volunteer on the day, please sign up via the volunteer form — every contribution makes a difference.
School Disco Thursday 14th May 🎉

The school disco is back! Save the date – Thursday 14th May promises to be a brilliant night for the children.
🕕 KS1 Disco: 6:00pm – 6:45pm
🕖 KS2 Disco: 7:00pm – 7:45pm
Tickets will be on sale soon. As always, we'll need volunteers to help at both sessions as well as with set-up and clear-away. If you're able to help, please complete the volunteer form.
🎁Fathers day Gift Shop Thursday 18th June
We're pleased to announce that the Father's Day Gift Shop will be taking place on Thursday 18th June. Please note that this time the shop is on a Thursday rather than the usual Friday. As always, children will be able to bring in money to independently choose a gift — a lovely experience that they always enjoy. More details to follow, and we'll need volunteers on the day, so please keep an eye out for the sign-up link.
🌺 Updates
Chromebooks for School
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the school, this summer we'll again be using funds raised to update digital equipment. Access to up-to-date technology is vital for children's learning, and this is one of the ways your support makes a real, tangible difference. You can see the full impact of what we've raised over the years in our Impact Gallery.
See the Difference You Make – Our Impact Gallery🌟
Over the years, Friends of Claverdon has raised thousands of pounds through the dedication and generosity of everyone who supports our school – from parents and carers to staff and the wider community. Through volunteering time and energy alongside our fundraising activities, we've been able to support our children and school in so many ways.
This gallery showcases some examples of the real impact of those efforts, from laptops and interactive whiteboards that enhance classroom learning, to RE resources, playground equipment, library books, sports kits, outdoor learning resources, wellbeing activities, and enrichment opportunities that bring the curriculum to life.
Today's children benefit from the fundraising of parents and carers who came before them, just as the funds we raise now will support the pupils yet to join our school – a continuing cycle of support that strengthens our whole community. We hope this collection reminds us all of what we can achieve together and the wonderful experiences we're helping to create for every child at Claverdon Primary School.
Thank you to our volunteers
As our school community naturally evolves, many of the families who have so generously given their time to Friends of Claverdon over the years now have children in upper KS2. As they move towards the end of their time at Claverdon Primary, we are delighted to welcome a wonderful group of families from KS1 who are stepping up to carry these important roles forward — ensuring that Friends of Claverdon continues to thrive for years to come.

A huge thank you to Flora (year 5), who has coordinated our Cauliflower Cards fundraiser for many years. Every Christmas, Flora has worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the children's artwork makes it onto cards, tags, notebooks and wrapping paper — a fundraiser that families genuinely love and that raises valuable funds for the school. We are so grateful for everything she has done. We're delighted to welcome Katy (year 1), who will be taking over the reins and keeping this much-loved fundraiser going!

Cheryl (year 6) has been in charge of the raffle — no small task, and one that makes a real difference to our fundraising. From building relationships with local businesses and encouraging parents to donate items for the hampers, managing the tickets, the tombola, and all the logistics that go into running a raffle on the day. Thank you Cheryl. We're delighted to welcome Cat and Jess (Reception), who will be stepping up to carry this forward.

A huge thank you to Sarah (year 5 and year 3), who has been running our school lottery, the 100 Club, for a number of years. During that time she has overseen some significant improvements to how the lottery runs, including moving from paper-based sign-ups to a fully online registration process — making it easier than ever for families to join. We are really grateful for all her hard work and dedication. We're pleased to welcome Katie (Reception), who will be working alongside Sarah over the coming months with a view to taking over the running of this effortless way to support the school. For just £2 a month you're in with a chance of winning cash prizes — sign up here if you haven't already!
